US-based real estate investment, management and development firm National Realty Investment Advisors (NRIA) has broken ground a $49m luxury apartment building in West New York, New Jersey.

Located at 4901 Bergenline Avenue in West New York, New Jersey’s business district called The Station will be a 10-storey mixed-use project comprising 97 one- and two-bedroom apartments averaging 960ft².

The apartments will have open floor plans, large windows, luxury appliances, and finishes. The facilities will include rooftop entertainment deck with grilling kitchen, soft seating, and scenic views of Manhattan and the mountains.

The luxury apartment, expected to open in 2021, will also consist of a fitness centre, club room, and 80 underground parking spaces, along with 25 additional off-site parking spaces.

NRIA said that the project is expected to be the tallest building in the heart of West New York’s business district, and the only luxury high-rise apartment building.

Furthermore, it said that the transit-oriented project is being constructed on the site of a former Duane Reade Pharmacy located across the street from the Bergenline Light Rail Station.

NRIA global business development senior vice president Glenn LaMattina said: “The Station will be a gamechanger for West New York.

“Since the opening of the Bergenline Station back in 2006, it has been the dream of local leaders to build new apartments close to public transportation, and we’re proud to be the first to do a large-scale project like this.”

The real estate firm said that the investment in West New York is expected to transform the look of the business district and attract other developers and investors, helping to reinvigorate the region.

Based in Secaucus, NRIA is a vertically-integrated firm specialised in luxury townhomes, condominiums, and multifamily developments and acquisitions.

The real estate firm is claimed to be a specialist in developing luxury residential designs and the projects which are in progress in the most dynamic urban centres and resort towns on the East Coast.
