Zaha Hadid Architects has completed the 330,000m² Galaxy Soho office, retail and entertainment complex in Beijing, China.
The Galaxy Soho building comprises four main domed structures fused together by bridges and plateaus between curving floor plates.

The mixed-use development features 18 floors, 15 above ground and three below ground, with retail units around the central canyon and courtyards on its four lower levels and office units occupying floors 4-15.
Galaxy Soho’s exterior has been designed with aluminium and stone, while the interior features glass, terrazzo, stainless steel and glass reinforced gypsum.
The architecture firm said that access, circulation and sun-path movements have informed the design, enabling natural light to penetrate into the site and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Galaxy Soho sold all the available units of public space that are designed to directly engage with the city, in 2011.

By GlobalDataZaha Hadid Architects founder Zaha Hadid said that the design of Galaxy Soho responds to the varied contextual relationships and challenging conditions of Beijing.
"We have created a variety of public spaces that directly engage with the city; reinterpreting the traditional urban fabric and contemporary living patterns into a seamless urban landscape inspired by nature," Hadid said.
"The natural rhythms and flows of the city, of the environment and of the people have been integrated within the design to define its formal composition."
Zaha Hadid Architects is currently working on the Wangjing, Beijing and Sky (Shanghai) projects for Soho China..
