Multiplex has secured a contract from Brookfield to redevelop the Wynyard Place in Sydney’s central business district (CBD).
The project — designed by Make and Architectus — will include the construction of an office tower, and the restoration of two heritage buildings. It will also include upgrades to the Wynyard’s George Street entrance, public concourse and grand transit hall.
The office building, at 10 Carrington Street, will be the centerpiece of the 75,000sq m development, and will feature 59,000sq m of PCA premium grade office space across 27 floors.
The renovation of the two heritage properties — Shell House and 285 George Street — will allow them to return to their original use as office buildings.
David Ghannoum, regional managing director NSW at Multiplex, said: “We’re thrilled that our 1000th project is with Brookfield and will build on our demonstrated experience in delivering world-class precincts together. Our team will draw upon its extensive capability in delivering high-rise buildings in busy CBD environments.”
Early works on the project have already commenced. Wynyard Place is expected to be complete in 2020.
