Multiplex has been selected by M&L Hospitality to build a boutique hotel at 65 Sussex Street in Sydney’s central business district (CBD), Australia.

The eight-storey building has been designed by architects Fitzpatrick + Partners, and will incorporate a distinctive geometric façade. It will feature 182 guest rooms with four suites, an internal courtyard, meeting space, restaurant and bar.

Multiplex regional managing director NSW David Ghannoum said: “Multiplex has extensive experience delivering high-quality hotels and entertainment facilities, and we are delighted to continue to build upon our relationship with M&L Hospitality.

“We will draw on our experience working on complex projects in constrained live CBD environments, using systems modelled on the 161 Sussex Street Sydney redevelopment.”

Multiplex is currently working on the redevelopment of the 161 Sussex Street Sydney, Darling Harbour, for M&L Hospitality. The project, to be soon completed, involves the revamp of the existing hotel, the construction of a new 3,667sq m convention centre, and a 25-storey building.

Construction work on the boutique hotel will start immediately, with completion expected by the fourth quarter of 2017.
