Contractor Multiplex has bagged a contract from Frasers Property Australia to build the final residential stage of its ‘Wonderland’ development at Sydney’s Central Park.
Estimated to cost about AUD140M ($105M), the development will house 294 apartments within a 13-storey curvilinear building. Wonderland will offer various amenities such as a cardio gym, rooftop entertainment and dining terraces, a residents’ lounge and two open gardens.
This is the second construction contract won by Multiplex at Central Park. The contractor will also build a Greenwood Early Education and Childcare Centre with capacity to accommodate 90 children.
Construction work is expected to start in November 2016 and be completed in early 2019.
Multiplex regional managing director David Ghannoum said: “We are delighted to be appointed to Wonderland. It’s immensely rewarding for Multiplex to be part of this transformative project. Central Park is one of the highest calibre projects in Australia in both design and construction.”
At present, Multiplex is building Central Park’s fifth residential stage, named Duo. The project has been designed by Foster + Partners and will feature residential and commercial spaces, a Starwood Four Points Hotel, and the heritage-listed The Australian Hotel.
