Morrison Construction has been selected as the preferred contractor for the Knockroon Learning and Enterprise Campus project in Cumnock, Scotland.

The project, which is the biggest capital project ever carried out by East Ayrshire Council, is estimated to cost £63.5M.

The work will involve the construction of five local primary and secondary schools, early years nursery provision and supported education facilities into one campus spanning 19.8ha.

Morrison Construction managing director for Central Scotland, Eddie Robertson, said: “This project is a major investment in education and well-being provision for the communities of Cumnock, Auchinleck and the surrounding area and we are very excited to have the opportunity to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to make these plans a reality.

“The development is set to create a modern, long lasting facility for pupils, staff and the community.”

Construction work is expected to commence this year, subject to the relevant consultations and procurement procedures, and be concluded in 2019.
