Midtown Athletic Clubs to build health-and-fitness club in Chicago

Midtown Athletic Clubs has unveiled plans to build the $75M Midtown Athletic Club and The Hotel at Midtown in Chicago [pictured], US.

The project will involve the expansion and revamp of Midtown’s flagship property that was built in 1970 as the world’s largest indoor tennis club.
The club will comprise four new pools, 929 sq m of cardio fitness floor, an NBA-size basketball court, three squash courts, three paddle tennis courts, a spa, a yoga studio, a pilates studio, a boxing studio, and group exercise studio. The club’s other features include 15 tennis courts and two golf simulators.

The 55-room hotel will house four private suites, including The V Suite designed by V STARR Interiors.

The 53,420 sq m project, designed by Evanston-based DMAC Architecture, is expected to be complete in July 2017.
