Megaworld, a developer of integrated urban townships in the Philippines, is building its fourth residential development in The Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

The 20-storey La Victoria Global Residences will offer 181 spacious units ranging from studio of up to 40m²; one-bedroom units of up to 53m²; two-bedroom units of up to 80m²; and three-bedroom units of up to 118m².

The tower will feature an architecture inspired by Spanish edifices, reflecting the historical significance of Galleon Victoria, the ship that brought Ferdinand Magellan to Cebu Island in 1521.

Megaworld Cebu Properties president Noli Hernandez said: “Galleon Victoria arrived in the Philippines in 1521, and completed its circumnavigation of the globe in 1522.

“This piece of history that eventually showcased the victory of native Filipinos will be commemorated by this new residential tower inside The Mactan Newtown.”

The main lobby will be designed with elements and installations significant to the Spanish expedition.

The amenity deck at the third level will feature an infinity pool and kiddie pool with covered pool lounge and wooden sunbathing deck, relaxation and reading lounge, children’s play area, function room, fitness centre, fitness trail and jogging path, and day care centre.

Megaworld is also launching its first residential development inside the 140-hectare Maple Grove township in General Trias, Cavite.

Located along the township’s main six-lane avenue, the 10-storey The Verdin at Maple Grove residential tower will consist of a ‘Sustainability Wall’ in the main lobby; solar-powered outlets in various parts of the outdoor amenity deck; use recycled and indigenous materials for the pool deck and children’s playground equipment; and use energy-generating equipment and machines in the outdoor fitness area.

The building will offer seven levels of residential units ranging from studio (up to 32m²), one-bedroom (up to 51m²), and two-bedroom (up to 79m²). Select units will have own lanai, overlooking the green parks and cityscape of the township.

The low density, mid-rise tower will only have 140 exclusive units. It will also offer two levels of podium parking and a retail row at the ground level.

The Verdin at Maple Grove, set to be completed in 2023, will have an exclusive third-level amenity deck featuring a lap pool with pool deck, children’s pool, leisure and relaxation park, reading nooks, function room, fitness centre, outdoor fitness area, daycare centre and a playground.
