UK-based contractor McLaren has bagged two contracts worth £90m at developer Quintain’s Wembley Park project in London.

The scope of the work includes construction of two new blocks on plot W03, one rising 10 stories and the other 15 stories. The blocks will comprise 320,000 sq ft of residential space, including 340 build to rent units, and retail space.

Reinforced concrete frame, brickwork façade with offsite prefabricated bathroom pods and external works such as a new roadway will be carried out as part of the project.

The contractor also inked a contract for early works and pre-construction services agreement (PSCA) for the W06 plot. The work includes re-alignment of Perimeter Way West road section, as well as installation of the temporary sheet piling, reduced level excavations and load bearing piling for the plot’s future residential and commercial buildings.

The projects are expected to be wrapped up between 2018 and 2019.

McLaren Major Projects regional MD John Butten said: “Our commitment and dedication working with Quintain and the design consultants to achieve success has been rewarded by the further appointment to a PCSA stage on the adjoining plot which is due to be awarded later this year.

“We are looking forward to constructing this prestigious project working with Quintain and in close coordination with the stadium for logistics purposes and in conjunction with the other contractors working on the framework at Wembley Park.”
