Majid Al Futtaim breaks ground on $381m shopping mall

Majid Al Futtaim, a mall operator, has broken ground on a new AED1.4bn ($381m) lifestyle destination in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The new destination, known as City Centre Al Jazira, will comprise a total leasable space of 80,500 sq m within a built-up area of 215,000 sq m. The property will feature 153 retail stores, a Carrefour Hypermarket, a Magic Planet family entertainment destination, a fitness centre, indoor and alfresco dining options.

Enabling works will begin this month, and a contractor has been appointed to carry out the work. The mall is expected to open in early 2021.
