Mabani Steel, belonging to the Al Rajhi Building Solutions Group and part of Al Rajhi Holding in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), has won a contract to provide steel structure solutions for the King Avenue Mall mega project.
Under the terms of the contract, the company will design, supply and install steel structure for the new shopping mall.
It is expected to become one of the biggest malls in the KSA and the GCC region upon its completion in December 2020.
The scope of work covers key components, including architectural parts of over 13,000 tonnes. Design for the steel structures is expected to be completed by January 2018 and fabrication is likely to be finished by May 2018.
Installation at the site is expected to be completed by October 2018.
The King Avenue Mall, which occupies an area of 125,000 sq m, will feature youth and family hubs, resorts, main plaza, home entertainment areas, food courts and huge retail stores.
The shopping centre will have an elliptic shape that offers the building a monumental, royal and luxurious identity.
Al Rajhi Structure Solutions Group chairman Khalid Al Rajhi said: “We are happy to introduce that Mabani Steel will be developing, supplying and setting up the steel frameworks to be utilised across the King Opportunity Mall megaproject in the KSA.”
Umm Al Qura & Al Nahla Financial Investment workflow manager Adnan Deeb said: “We have awarded the scope of supplying and erecting the steel frameworks for the King Method Mall project to Mabani Steel. We are certain that they will complete the job as per the schedule.
