Engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won orders worth INR13.91bn ($205m) across various business segments in India.
The company’s wholly owned subsidiary, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), has won new orders worth more than INR7.5bn ($111m) in its construction services business vertical.
The business has secured an INR4.5bn ($66.5m) order for pipelines and associated works in the southeastern region of India and an order for additional works, worth INR3bn ($44.3m), from an existing contract.
The Water and Effluent Treatment Business has secured an EPC order worth INR4.32bn ($64m) from the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, Odisha, for providing water supply to 307 villages in Kendrapada, Jharsuguda and Angul districts.
The scope of work includes supply and laying of transmission and distribution pipelines, design and construction of a water treatment plant, water retaining structures, intake and booster pumping stations, as well as associated electromechanical and instrumentation works.
L&T’s Smart World and Communication Business has won an order worth INR2.09bn ($30.8m) for the smart city project in Allahabad as Master System Integrator (MSI) for implementation of surveillance system, traffic management system, smart elements and an Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC).
The scope of work includes smart elements such as solid waste management system, smart parking, transit management system, emergency call boxes, environmental sensors, variable message display boards and e-Challan system.
Meanwhile, L&T Construction, the construction arm of L&T, has won an EPC contract from Amaravati Development Corporation (ADCL) to build an INR13.87bn ($204.9m) bridge across the River Krishna at Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh.
Under the contract, the Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business of L&T Construction will design and construct a 3.2km, six-lane bridge across the Krishna, which includes 2.72km of approach bridges.
The bridge will connect Pavitrasangamam in Vijayawada and N10 Road in Amaravati. L&T has also been entrusted with the operation and maintenance of the bridge for five years.
