The construction unit of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bagged INR35.51bn ($548m) of contracts across various businesses.
The company’s transportation infrastructure and water effluent treatment business has won an INR11.23bn ($173.2m) contract from a government client.
Scope of work includes design and construction of smart trunk infrastructure with roads, storm water drains, water supply network, sewerage network, utility ducts for power and ICT, reuse water line, pedestrian tracks, and cycle track. The company will also be responsible for avenue plantation, street furniture as well as associated works.
The transportation infrastructure business of L&T secured an INR7.77bn ($119.8m) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build the integrated transit corridor development plan in and around Pragati Maidan.
The project, awarded by the Public Works Department, Delhi, will involve construction of cut and cover tunnels, underpass, FOB, loops, and ramps. The project scope also covers road work landscaping/horticulture works alongside other associated works.
The water and effluent treatment business of L&T has bagged contracts valued at INR5.72bn ($88.2m) in total.
These include a contract from the Public Health Engineering Department of a major state government for offering rural water supply and fluorosis mitigation, and another contract from the Municipal Corporation of a major city in central India for offering pressurised water supply scheme in Indore district.
Scope of work in the Public Health Engineering Department project involves supply, laying and commissioning of distribution network, construction of clear water reservoirs as well as elevated storage reservoirs. For the Municipal Corporation contract, L&T will be responsible for supplying, laying and commissioning of distribution network, construction of overhead tanks, and replacement of an old distribution network.
The building and factories arm of L&T won an INR8.66bn ($133.5m) order from a government client to design and build 22 towers. The company will be responsible for construction of structure, architectural finishes and MEP works.
L&T’s smart world and communication business won an INR2.13bn contract ($32.85m) for design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of telecommunication systems.
The project, awarded by Metro Link Express, covers public address system, passenger information display, master clock, centralised data recording, tetra radio communication, fibre optic transmission network, CCTV surveillance, access control and intrusion detection systems.
