L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited (LTHE) has won contracts worth approximately INR21bn ($330.12m) from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Visakhapatnam Refinery, and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Jamnagar.
In a statement, the company said that the EPC contract from HPCL Visakh Refinery is for the construction of a Crude Distillation and Vacuum Distillation Unit (CDU & VDU).
The Reliance Industries contract is an extension to an ongoing contract.
The 9mmtpa CDU & VDU project is part of the Visakh Refinery Modernisation Project (VRMP) of HPCL and involves engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
The order reinforces LTHE’s capability to deliver ‘design to build’ engineering and construction solutions across the hydrocarbon spectrum, the company said.
LTHE has been serving the onshore hydrocarbon sector since early 1990s and has completed several projects for domestic and international clients.
Earlier in 2017, the company had won an offshore contract worth INR12.67bn ($194m) from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the balance work for Pipeline Replacement Project-4.
The contract, won against international competitive bidding, involves engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) for the project.
The project is part of ONGC’s strategy to replace some of its well fluid, gas lift and water injection pipelines, along with brown-field modification works on existing platforms in its Mumbai High, Neelam, Heera and Bassein and Satellite Fields situated in the Western Offshore field in the Arabian Sea.
L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering is a wholly owned subsidiary of engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T).
Larsen & Toubro is an Indian multinational company involved in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services with revenues of more than $17bn.
