L&T Construction, the construction unit of technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) of India, has won contracts worth INR10bn ($140m) to INR25bn ($349m) in India.
The company’s Effluent Treatment Businesshas secured projects from the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department of the Government of Odisha.
The EPC orders have been secured for the execution of individual rural water supply projects in the Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha.
The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply and erection of 5,828km of transmission and distribution pipelines, construction of three intake structures of total capacity of 82MLD, three water treatment plants of total capacity of 78MLD, pumping stations and water storage structures.
It also involves automation, including measurement of input and output water quantity and quality at each level through suitable SCADA and other instrumentation works.
The project will cater to the drinking water needs of 919 villages in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
The Effluent Treatment Businesshas also secured add-on orders from some of its existing projects.
In January 2019, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, won two EPCC orders from Indian Oil (IOCL) for setting up mono ethylene glycol (MEG) plant and ethylene recovery unit (ERU) under LSTK-1 package, and associated offsite and utilities under LSTK-2 package at IOCL Paradip Refinery (Odisha).
The 357KTA MEG plant is licensed by Scientific Design, while the 180KTA ERU is licensed by Lummus Technology (now McDermott).
Both projects are on Lump Sum Turn Key (LSTK) basis and will be executed concurrently.
Ethylene Oxide reactor, columns and other equipment for the project will be fabricated at L&T’s manufacturing facilities.
LTHE managing director and CEO Subramanian Sarma said:“L&T has a Proven Track Record of over 25 years in the refinery and petrochemical sector and bagging these two orders from IOCL reinforces our integrated capabilities in executing critical plants for petrochemical and refinery segments.”
LTHE delivers ‘design to build’ engineering and construction solutions under offshore, onshore, construction services, modular fabrication and engineering services verticals across the hydrocarbon spectrum.
