L&T Construction secures contracts worth $395m

L&T Construction, the construction arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has been awarded contracts valued at approximately INR25.25bn ($395m) across various business segments. 

The Metallurgical & Material handling Business has won orders worth INR 22.7bn ($355m) in the domestic market.

Competing with other firms, the company has won engineering, procurement and construction contract to establish a non-ferrous process plant in India.

Under the contract, L&T Construction will be responsible for designing, engineering, procurement, installation, construction & commissioning of various sub units of the process plant and other associated works.

Additionally, the business has bagged another order for manufacturing and supply of material handling equipment for multiple customers.

Separately, other business segments of L&T construction have won orders worth INR2.54bn ($39.7m).

The Power Transmission & Distribution Business has been awarded an order from Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) for the supply and construction of a 500/230kV gas insulated substation and improvement works in two 230kV gas insulated substations. L&T won this contract with a consortium partner.

Moreover, the Smart World & Communication Business has secured an order from Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (ELCOT).

The scope of the contract includes supply, installation, commissioning, configuration, testing and O&M of the existing Tamil Nadu State Data Centre (TNSDC) Phase – I.

The company will be responsible for establishing a data centre with up-gradation of IT infrastructure such as servers, network routers & switches and related software.
