LINK 427 selected for Ontario highway project

LINK 427 has been chosen as the preferred proponent by Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to design, build, finance and maintain the Highway 427 Expansion project.

Plans for the project include the construction of a new 6.6km extension from Highway 7 to Major Mackenzie Drive, along with a 4km road widening from Finch Avenue to Highway 7.

Minister of transportation Steven Del Duca said: “This critical project will help generate jobs in Vaughan, and will make travelling across the region easier and more convenient, allowing you to spend less time commuting and more time with your loved ones."

The cost and schedule for the project will be unveiled in March 2017. Design and construction is expected to commence soon after this. IO and MTO will now work on finalising the details of the contract with LINK 427.

LINK 427's team includes ACS Infrastructure Canada Inc., Miller Infrastructure, Dragados Canada Inc., Bot Infrastructure Ltd., MMM Group Ltd. and Thurber Engineering Ltd.
