Australia-based contractor Lendlease has won a contract for the £1.5bn redevelopment of the former St John’s Wood Barracks site in northwest London, UK.
The 2.2-hectare site, which previously housed the Royal Horse Artillery, will now be redeveloped into 171 luxury homes across eight blocks.
The property will also comprise retail units, while the site’s riding school will be converted into a spa, and swimming pool.
The project includes Craigewan as development manager, Squire & Partners as architect, DP9 as planner, and WSP as engineering consultant. Construction is expected to be wrapped up in five-and-a-half years.
“On behalf of its client, St. John’s Wood Square Limited, Craigewan can confirm the appointment of Lendlease to provide advice during the detailed design phase of the development prior to the appointment of a main contractor,” Craigewan stated.
