Leighton Asia, Chun Wo Construction to deliver Hong Kong Airport works

The Airport Authority Hong Kong has selected Leighton Asia, along with joint venture partner Chun Wo Construction and Engineering Company Limited (Chun Wo), to construct the AUD390m ($295m) Terminal 2 (T2) foundation and substructure works at Hong Kong International Airport.

Leighton Asia, part of CIMIC Group construction company CPB Contractors, will have a revenue of A$273m ($206.75m), reflecting the company’s 70% joint venture share.

Under the contract, Leighton Asia will deliver the foundations for the modified T2, two annex buildings and associated viaducts, construction of the basement of T2, south annex building structures, diaphragm walls, utility services and other works.

Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2017 and will be completed by December 2021.
