Kerjaya Prospek wins $103m contract to build Vertu Resort project in Malaysia

Malaysian construction firm Kerjaya Prospek has been awarded a MYR442m ($103m) contract by Aspen Group for main building works for the Vertu Resort project in Malaysia. 

Being jointly developed by Aspen Group and IKEA Southeast Asia, the Vertu Resort project is the first high rise urban resort-inspired residential development in Aspen Vision City in Penang.

The scope of the contract includes the construction of five condominium blocks ranging from 20 floors to 36 floors consisting of 1,246 units of condominiums to be built above an eight-storey car park podium with one-storey above the car park for community recreational facilities.

Construction work is scheduled to commence on 4 September while completion is expected to be completed within 38 months.

The latest project is Kerjaya’s sixth contract award for the year and brings the year-to-date contract wins to MYR868m ($202.1m) and its current outstanding order-book stands at an impressive MYR2.9bn ($675m).

Kerjaya Prospek Group currently manages four business divisions comprising construction division, kitchen cabinetry division, lighting division and property development division.
