
A joint venture led by OHL has won a contract from copper producer Codelco for the expansion of the Talabre dam in Chile.
The €145M contract represents the eighth stage of the construction of the tailings dam, located in the city of Calama, in Chile’s Antofagasta region.
The scope of the contract includes the construction of periphery walls, a 20km-long tailings pipeline, three mobile clear-water pumping stations for a total flow of 690l/second and two regulating basins for the reclaimed water system with a capacity of 75,000 cb m each.
The project will also include the extension of walls to a total length of 19km, and other supplementary works
The selected JV comprises OHL, and the Chilean companies Conpax and Valko.
