
Atlanta Joint Venture (AJV) has been selected as the construction manager by the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club to refurbish its Philips Arena in Georgia, US.
The JV includes Turner Construction Company, AECOM Hunt, SG Contracting and Bryson Constructors.
Turner, the controlling partner of AJV, will be responsible for the project management, as well as support staff. AECOM Hunt will lead the preconstruction work, and provide on-site field supervision during the construction phase.
SG Contracting will offer on-site management services along with support staff, while Bryson Constructors will provide management support and field support staff for the project, which will involve an investment of $192.5M.
Hawks’ CEO Steve Koonin said: “Our goal is to transform Philips Arena into a venue that embodies the spirit and connectivity of our great city. We are fortunate to work with these respected, industry leaders who understand Atlanta, share our passion for innovation and also place a high value on diversity in their work.”
Atlanta-based HJ Russell & Company and Legends Project Development will serve as the project management team.
