JGC wins gas pipeline project in Bahrain

JGC Gulf International has secured a JPY10bn ($96.6M) contract for the construction of a gas pipeline and storage tank in Awali, Bahrain.

The turnkey contract was awarded by the Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company (BNGEC) to the company, an affiliate of Japan-based JGC Corporation, and will include the provision of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) services for a gas pipeline and storage tank construction.

The project will include the construction of feed gas and product gas transfer pipelines, and product gas storage tanks which will be used in the gas processing plant also due to be constructed by JGC, after the company secured the construction contract from BNGEC in January 2016.

The project is set to be complete in September 2018.
