Ithra Dubai breaks ground on One Za'abeel tower project in Dubai

Ithra Dubai, the real estate firm owned by Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), has broken ground its mixed-use development project One Za’abeel in Dubai.

Set to become one of Dubai’s leading skyscraper, the mixed-use project will feature two towers connected by a cantilever floating at 100m above ground.

Alec Engineering & Construction (ALEC) has been hired as the main contractor to build the project, which includes a luxury hotel, residences, serviced apartments, office spaces and a retail podium.

The two towers, including with 67 floors and the other with 57 floors, will rise up from a structure consisting of three podium levels and seven basement levels.

The project, which has a total built up area of 480,000 sq m, is expected to be completed by the end of 2020, as the construction of a seven-floor basement is currently underway after completion of site excavation, preparatory works and shoring and piling work.

Ithra Dubai director and CEO Issam Galadari said: “With the recent appointment of Alec as the main contractor, the project has now entered an exciting phase of construction where One Za’abeel and its panoramic 210-metre sky concourse –The Linx - will in due course re-shape the ever-exciting Dubai skyline.
