India’s L&T wins construction contracts worth $325M

India-based Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that its construction arm secured contracts valued at INR21.7bn ($324.6M) across its various business segments.

The power transmission & distribution business has won orders worth INR11.69bn ($174.9M).

The business has been awarded an order from Oman Electricity Transmission Company SAOC for the construction of the 400/132kV Qabel Grid Station and related works. It has also won two more contracts for the design, supply, construction and commissioning of five 132kV substations in the UAE.

The business has also secured a contract from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company to enhance the sub-transmission and distribution network in Nadia, India, under the Integrated Power Development Scheme.

The water and effluent treatment business has been awarded a contract worth INR3.6bn ($53.8M).

It has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Rajasthan Urban Drinking Water Sewerage and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (RUDSICO), Government of Rajasthan (under AMRUT), to deliver a sewerage project with treatment facilities spread across three towns: Bharatpur, Gangapur and Hindaun.

The scope of the work will include the construction of 354km of sewerage network and eight sewage treatment plants, with a total capacity of 24.75M litres per day, leveraging Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) Technology.

Additionally, the building & factories business has won an INR3.2bn ($47.8M) contract for the construction of commercial and residential towers in Mumbai. Under the contract, the business will be responsible for the provision of civil shell and core, and finishing works.

The firm has won additional contracts valued at INR3.21bn ($48M) from existing customers across various business segments.
