IJM Construction wins $105m office building contract in Malaysia

IJM Construction, a subsidiary of IJM Corp, has won a contract worth MYR450.9m ($105.1m) from UOB Properties (KL) for the construction of the UOB Tower 2 office building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In a stock exchange filing, IJM said that it had accepted the letter of award from UOB Properties (KL) Bhd for the project.

The project, which is scheduled to be completed over a period of 40 months, features five levels of basement car park, one level of lower ground floor, two levels of podium for a banking hall.

The UOB Tower 2 project also includes 27 levels of office space including a green lounge reception, a sky lounge and mechanical floors.

IJM Corporation is engaged in the construction, property development, manufacturing and quarrying, infrastructure concessions, and plantations businesses primarily in Malaysia, India, China, and Indonesia.

The company undertakes civil engineering works of various projects, such as bridges/highways, utilities, and airports/transit systems; and construction of condominium/housing projects, commercial and cultural complexes, hospitals/clinics/medical centres, among others.
