Hilton breaks ground on Motto by Hilton hotel in Atlanta, Georgia

US-based hospitality firm Hilton has broken ground on Motto by Hilton hotel in the Old Fourth Ward neighbourhood of Atlanta in Georgia, US.

Situated at 40 Boulevard Northeast, the 146-room Motto by Hilton hotel forms part of Waldo’s, an $80m mixed-use project that will include food and beverage outlets, commercial and residential spaces.

Slated to open in 2021, the hotel will be operated by an Atlanta-based private hotel investment, ownership and management company, Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG).

Motto by Hilton global brand head Tripp McLaughlin said: “As we build on Motto by Hilton’s unique take on today’s lifestyle hotel experience with efficient micro-guest rooms, linking rooms for group travel, innovative technology, vibrant communal space and locally inspired design and food and beverage offerings, we are excited to celebrate this ground-breaking moment in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward.”

As part of its expansion across the US and globally, Motto by Hilton has signed deals in Brooklyn, New York; Chelsea, New York; Indianapolis; Lima, Peru; Savannah and Washington, DC, along with nearly 20 additional active leads in 10 nations.

Hilton global development, architecture, design and construction president Ian Carter said: “Since launching Motto by Hilton last year, our expansion in the U.S. and abroad is a testament to our incredible partners, owners and the development community.”

Slated to open in 2020, Motto by Hilton Washington D.C. City Center will comprise 245 rooms, activated lobby and social spaces, as well as unique food and beverage offerings.

Motto by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown will comprise 108 rooms and is expected to be open in 2021.

The 374-room Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea is slated to open in 2021, while 155-room Motto by Hilton Lima Miraflores (Peru) is expected to open in 2022.

The 117-room Motto by Hilton Brooklyn Downtown is currently being designed for modular construction and will offer scenic views of Brooklyn and Manhattan from its guestrooms and upper-level rooftop terraces. The 26-storey hotel is expected to open in 2022.

Set to open in 2022, Motto by Hilton Savannah Historic District will comprise 125 rooms, 2,500ft2 meeting space, the Motto Commons, co-working spaces and a rooftop resort-style pool and bar.
