Gammon Construction, an equal stake joint venture (JV) between infrastructure group Balfour Beatty and Jardine Matheson, has been awarded a contract to build The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel in Hong Kong.
The contract, valued at more than HKD1bn (about £97m), has been awarded by Parkland (Hong Kong). It will include the construction of the hotel with two 10-level blocks on a three-storey podium at the Tai Shue Wan bay.
The scope of the work also includes site formation, foundation and building work.
Gammon Construction CEO Thomas Ho said: “We are delighted with the opportunity to play a key role in another significant milestone for Ocean Park, following the award of the new Water World water park earlier this year.
“The project team is committed to delivering the project to the highest quality and in a sustainable manner, while maintaining excellent standards of safety.”
The project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2021, will create around 700 construction jobs.
