Galliford Try’s building business has bagged a £65m contract to build the new 3 Arena Central office building in central Birmingham, UK.
The award of recent contract by Arena Central Development Ltd (ACDL) comes after completion of 1 Centenary Square building by Galliford Try. The 1 Centenary Square building will be occupied by HSBC UK.
Funded by Legal and General, the latest development has already been leased by HM Government with departments including HMRC on lease for a period of 25 years.
The new building, which will have efficient floor-plates of 18,299 sq ft set around an offset core, has been designed to meet BREEAM Excellent standards.
Upon becoming operational in spring 2020, the new office tower will be able to accommodate more than 3,600 employees.
Galliford Try managing director for building midlands and south, Mick Laws, said: “We are delighted to be once again working with ACDL to deliver another landmark office building for Birmingham.
“Our work at Arena Central has already demonstrated what can be achieved and we look forward to providing high-quality accommodation for the civil servants who will be working there.”
Andrew Sutherland of ACDL said: “Galliford Try’s work in delivering 1 Centenary Square has demonstrated their commitment to truly first-class development. Their familiarity with the site, high standards of work and track record makes them a perfect choice to deliver 3 Arena Central.”
