Galliard Construction has been appointed by developer Sager as the principal contractor for Sager’s £400m Islington Square project.
Located behind Islington’s Upper Street, the 4.5-acre development includes a blend of Edwardian and new-build elements. The project has been designed and planned by CZWG Architects.
Work will start with demolition of the 1960s block at the northern end of the site, and piling and groundworks across the site.
The new development will feature 263 residential apartments, 108 serviced apartments, 170,000 sq ft of luxury lifestyle brands and restaurants, as well as a Third Space Health Club and Odeon Lounge cinema.
The fit out of the new tenant facilities is scheduled to commence in early 2017, with the project completion expected by the end of 2017.
