Bolton-based Forrest has won a £100m contract from Elliot Group to build the Aura scheme on the site of the former Erskine Industrial Estate in Liverpool, UK.

Located adjacent to the new Liverpool Royal University Hospital, the development will feature 1,007 student rooms and 142 one- and two-bed apartments for rent.

Designed by Falconer Chester Hall, the 14-storey, two-building development project will also include a residents’ gym, a bar and study areas for students.

The contract is the second project that Forrest has bagged from developer Elliot Group, after the company won a contract to build the 34-storey The Residence apartment complex in Salford in April.

Elliot Lawless of Elliot Group said: “We’re working with Forrest on our Residence project in Manchester and I’ve been very impressed with their focus and approach.

“This is a big project on an island site with some key neighbours, so having a developer who can add value to how we manage our stakeholder relationships was a key consideration.”
