Enel’s subsidiary Enel Green Power México is investing $120M in the construction of a wind farm in Mexico.
Enel has been also awarded the right to sign a 15-year energy supply and 20-year clean certificate supply contract with Salitrillos wind farm.
The project will be built in the municipality of Reynosa, which is located in Tamaulipas, northeastern Mexico.
The wind farm — which will have an installed capacity of 93MW — will produce about 400GWh of energy annually and reduce more than 230,000t of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Salitrillos is expected to commence operations by 2019.
