American retail real estate owner, operator and developer EDENS and multifamily developers Crescent Communities have broken ground on new retail and residential development at Moores Mill in Upper Westside Atlanta.

In the second phase of development, EDENS will add 15,000ft² of new retail, while Crescent Communities will bring 345 residential units across five acres with NOVEL Upper Westside, its latest multifamily community in Atlanta.

The new Moores Mill retail and residential is expected to be delivered in 2020.

EDENS senior vice president of development Herbert Ames said: “We are excited to work with Crescent Communities in the Upper Westside.

“Their company values and approach to design align with our vision to bring high-quality residential with our growing retail experience at Moores Mill.”

Totalling 300,000ft², NOVEL Upper Westside will consist of three buildings, including a variety of one-, two- and three- bedroom options.

NOVEL Upper Westside will feature high-end, on-trend finishes, and the community will feature resort-like amenities, including a modern fitness centre, pool courtyard, rooftop lounge and dog park.

NOVEL Upper Westside is one of three Crescent multifamily communities to be delivered in Atlanta over the next two years.

NOVEL Perimeter, located in the central perimeter district, was recently opened to residents, and NOVEL O4W, located in the Old Fourth Ward neighbourhood, is under construction and expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2019.

Currently, Crescent Communities has 20 multifamily communities under construction or in operation across the US.

Crescent Communities multifamily managing director Kyle Brock said: “Atlanta’s Upper Westside is quickly becoming one of the most desirable neighborhoods inside the perimeter, and we’re excited to be part of cultivating a true live, work, play experience.

“Our plans for NOVEL Upper Westside will help create an authentic place with a true sense of community for residents to call home, all within a vibrant mixed use hub.

“Together with our Perimeter and Old Fourth Ward communities, it’s a great addition to our offering here in Atlanta and demonstrates our approach to bringing the NOVEL experience to some of the most outstanding locations in each market where we are active.”
