Dubai Properties has commenced work on the new Marasi Business Bay marina, which forms part of the AED1bn ($272.2bn) Marasi Business Bay project.

The marina will be built with the help of Seaflex technology that elongates and retracts based on water levels. Phase one of the marina will include 157 berths ranging between eight and 35 metres in size. This phase is expected to be wrapped up in the third quarter of 2017.

Dubai Properties CEO Abdulla Lahej said: "The new marina at Marasi Business Bay will leverage latest advances in construction and engineering for its on-schedule completion, offering the city a new active urban lifestyle dimension and waterfront destination.”

Overall, Marasi Business Bay will be composed of the Park, the Pier and the Marina, which together will feature 800 berths. Among the various features of the waterfront destination include water homes, pools and floating restaurants.
