CSCEC bags $150m final construction contract for Circle Line 6 in Singapore

The Singapore branch of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has won a SGD205m ($150.5m) contract for Circle Line 6 (CCL6) from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore.

The scope of the contract, which marks the final civil contract for CCL6, includes construction of Cantonment station - a three-level underground station along Keppel Road. Cantonment Station will be constructed with a Civil Defence shelter, the 12th Civil Defence shelter on the Circle Line (CCL).

Work on construction will commence by 2017- end while the project is scheduled to be completed in 2025. The four-kilometre CCL6 will feature three stations, Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward, and will close the loop for the CCL by connecting HarbourFront Station to Marina Bay Station.

Once construction of the CCL6 stations is completed, the CCL will have a total of 33 stations, including 12 interchange stations with other MRT lines. Further, the project will also expand the rail network to areas such as Spottiswoode and the southern edge of our existing CBD. With CCL6, travellers can enjoy a direct route between areas in the west, such as Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge, key employment areas in the Central Business District, and upcoming developments in the Marina Bay area.
