CPB wins £236m contract to deliver Campbelltown Hospital Project in Australia

CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors has been awarded a contract worth A$424m (£236m) by the state government of New South Wales (NSW) to deliver a hospital redevelopment in the state.

In addition to expanding key clinical and support services, the Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 integrates and expands mental health facilities and paediatric facilities.

The redevelopment work includes a new clinical services building, enhanced medical and surgical children’s services; modern mental health units; enhanced women’s health services; operating theatres; and emergency department with more treatment spaces.

Construction has commenced and is scheduled for completion by mid-2023.

Separately, CPB Contractors has won a NZD221m (£116.7m) contract to deliver the Taxiway Mike and Remote Stands Stage 2 project at Auckland International Airport.

Under the contract, the company will be responsible for the construction of an additional taxiway, as well as extending an existing taxiway and six remote stands with in-ground jet fuel reticulation.

In addition, the company will construct a 3,200m stormwater drainage system, runoff and treatment lagoon, and a 2,200m in-ground jet fuel network.

Works will also include 900,000m³ of earthworks, laying 130,000m³ of aggregate base course, and 168,000m² of concrete pavement.

Wright added: “New Zealand remains an important focus for the CIMIC Group as we expand our delivery of infrastructure to benefit communities now and into the future.

“The Auckland Airport works are an important addition to our strong portfolio of transport and social infrastructure projects across the country.”

Work will be performed under a major expansion project at the airport over the next two years while the project is slated for completion by October 2021.
