CPB Contractors, a CIMIC Group company, has won a design-build contract from Main Roads Western Australia to build the northern segment of the NorthLink WA in Australia.

The scope of the contract includes the construction of a free-flowing dual carriageway between Ellenbrook and Muchea.

The works will involve the construction of new junctions at Stock Road, Neaves Road and Muchea, bridges and separate cycling and pedestrian paths to provide safer and better connections between local communities.

Upon completion, the AUD1.12bn NorthLink WA will complement Gateway WA and support regional traffic volumes to commercial and industrial areas, such as Malaga, Kewdale, Perth Airport and the Perth CBD (central business district).

CIMIC’s CEO Adolfo Valderas said: “The NorthLink WA northern section will provide a vital road portal for traffic and freight movements to commercial and industrial areas north of Perth, as well as improved safety, reduced congestion and faster travel times for road users.”

Construction is scheduled to commence in mid-2017 and be completed in 2019. The project will generate revenue of nearly $175M for CPB Contractors.
