Contract awarded for Qatar residential towers

UAE-based construction firm Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has won a QAR580M ($158.9M) contract for the construction of the Al Mutahidah Towers project in Qatar.

The development will be located at the Pearl-Qatar — UDC’s flagship project in the country.

The contract, awarded by United Development Company (UDC), will involve the construction of twin 25-storey residential towers featuring 480 apartments, two parking levels, and 160,500 sq m of amenity/entertainment space.

The scope of the work will also include the structural, architectural finishes and mechanical, electrical and plumbing works and landscaping.

Work on the project is expected to commence in February 2017, and be completed in the third quarter of 2019.
