Contract awarded for India thermal power project

Indian engineering and construction firm BGR Energy Systems has won a contract from Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution (TANGEDCO) for Stage III of the 800MW North Chennai Thermal Power project in Tamil Nadu, India.

The scope of the work will include the design, engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, inspection, testing, transportation, erection, testing and commissioning of the balance of plant mechanical, electrical, and control and instrumentation works including associated civil works.

The contract is valued at INR26bn ($389.3M), and will have a completion period of 36 months.
