
A consortium led by Sacyr Concesiones has been appointed to deliver a $1.47bn road project in Paraguay.
The consortium also includes Mota Engil and Ocho A.
The scope of the project will include the construction and operation of ‘Road 2’, between Asunción and Coronel Oviedo, and ‘Road 7’, between Coronel Oviedo and Caaguazú.
The contract includes 170km of roadways that will be widened, improved, operated, and maintained by the concessionaire. It will also involve the construction of five by-passes between the cities of Asunción and Caaguazú.
The project has a planned construction investment amounting to $520M and is set to bring revenue of $1.47bn over a 30-year concession. It is the first roadway project under the new APP Law of Paraguay.
