Construction begins on $270m senior housing project in New York

Maplewood Senior Living and Omega Healthcare Investors have broken ground on a new $270m luxury senior living development, known as Inspīr | Manhattan, in Manhattan, New York.

The 23-storey senior living community will cover an area of 212,000 sq ft. It will feature 215 units of assisted living, enhanced care and memory care.

The property is touted to be the first ground-up projects of this scale in the city in more than two decades. The new project also marks the launch of the Inspīr brand.

The community will include amenities, such as gardens, an indoor heated swimming pool, a luxury salon and spa, an entertainment movie theatre, a library, and luxurious common area. It will also feature a variety of high-end dining venues.

Designed by Handel Architects, the development will floor-to-ceiling windows, a 16th floor sky park, terraces and enclosed gardens. T.G. Nickel & Associates serves as the construction manager for the project. Inspīr | Manhattan is set to open in 2019.
