UK-based Clugston Construction has won a contract to build a new £60M Ikea store in Sheffield, UK.
The 31,500sq m, two-storey facility will feature a sales floor, a warehouse; staff facilities, a café, children’s play and car parking areas.
Steve Radcliffe, Clugston Construction’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to have been selected to build Ikea’s new superstore in Sheffield. This I believe will be the largest retail scheme we have delivered in Yorkshire and will generate significant opportunities in the Sheffield area for our supply chain.”
Construction work will commence shortly, with the store expected to open in summer 2017.
The project will create 300 jobs during the construction phase and around 350 once completed.
