China State Construction Engineering (CSCEC) has secured a contract worth $140m from DAMAC Properties to build tower C of Aykon City, DAMAC’s luxury mixed-use project on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.
The contract covers civil construction works for tower C, the residential tower in the award-winning $2bn development, overlooking the Dubai Water Canal.
Known as ‘The Residence’, tower C will have a total built-up area of 1.8 million ft² and will feature studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with premium interiors and exceptional finishing.
The tower will also feature ‘The Club’, a residents-only lifestyle and entertainment space that will offer views of the Dubai Water Canal and Safa Park.
The 62-floor tower comprises two basement levels, a ground and 10 podium levels, in addition to a dedicated lifestyle and entertainment level, 48 residential floors and a rooftop.
DAMAC Properties general manager of operations Ali Sajwani said: “CSCEC shares our commitment to quality, safety and timely delivery. After a thorough tendering process, we have chosen to expand CSCEC’s remit in the Aykon City project beyond AED1.1bn, having awarded them the contract to build tower B earlier this year.
“We also look forward to seeing the towers of Aykon City complement Dubai’s distinctive skyline and one of the world’s greatest urban transformations, the Dubai Water Canal.”
The mixed-use development includes premium residential, hospitality and commercial units.
It will also have access to the 3.2km waterway of the Dubai Water Canal, which runs all the way to the Arabian Gulf, from the Creek in Old Dubai.
Earlier in August 2018, DAMAC Properties signed an agreement with Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) to launch Radisson Hotel, Dubai DAMAC Hills, on the Trump International Golf Club Dubai at DAMAC Hills.
The first Radisson-branded property worldwide to be located on a golf course, the 481-key hotel will comprise one- and two-bedroom suites.
Radisson Hotel, Dubai DAMAC Hills is already under construction and is expected to welcome its first guests in the fourth quarter of 2019.
The hotel will have two restaurants, modern leisure facilities comprising a gym, spa, kids club and an outdoor swimming pool, as well as meeting space covering 600m².
