CenterCal to build Mountain View Village mixed-use project in US

US-based retail developer CenterCal Properties is developing Mountain View Village, a mixed-use project, in Riverton, Utah.

Located on 85 acres in the Salt Lake Valley, construction on Mountain View Village project is being carried out in three phases.

Phase I of the project was opened in 2018 with an anchor grocery store and other national retailers.

The first phase of the Mountain View Village project has been designed to provide visitors with their daily needs from big-box retailers, grocery and casual dining. A bronze eagle statue, ‘Majestic’, created by Brian Keith, is also part of the first phase.

CenterCal Properties has broken ground on Phase II in August 2019. This phase will feature speciality retail, entertainment and restaurants.

The company has now acquired nine acres of land for the construction of Phase III of the project.

The acquired land will be developed simultaneously with Phase II.

Phases II and III will comprise new entertainment, restaurants, a movie theatre, around 90 additional retail tenants as well as several parks and parklets, over 1,700 newly-planted trees and 10,000 plant species.

Furthermore, a 440-unit residential apartment complex with a rooftop pool and fitness area is also expected to be constructed in the third phase.

CenterCal CEO Fred Bruning said: “Phase III at Mountain View Village is another step forward in manifesting CenterCal’s signature ‘placemaking’ philosophy – building spaces where people can live, work, play, eat, visit and assemble to serve and strengthen our community.

“CenterCal is pulling out all the stops in experiential technology for the final phase of development. Visitors can expect to experience a new level of entertainment technology in our fountain and light productions.”

The company said that Phase III will be developed simultaneously with Phase II.

Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs said: “Mountain View Village will become a distinct gathering place in Riverton that will continue to promote the strong sense of community we have here.

“Mountain View Village is a bright spot in the community’s future and will positively affect the trajectory of the city’s growth for many generations.”
