The Celtic Football Club, a professional football club based in Glasgow, Scotland, has submitted a proposal of application notice to Glasgow City Council for the development of the Celtic Park area.
Plans for the site include the construction of a new hotel, retail store, ticketing facility and museum outside Parkhead.
Part of the Celtic’s long-standing masterplan for the area, the development will allow further re-generation of the East End of the city.
The club said in a statement: “This application represents only the first stage in this process. It is important to emphasise that considerable work and investment over a number of years would be required to bring this project to fruition. There would be a number of challenges to overcome to complete a development of this scale.”
