CB&I wins $460M contract for Russia refinery expansion project

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I) has won a $460M contract for the Afipsky Oil Refinery Expansion Project in Krasnodar [pictured], Russia.

The contract has been awarded by NefteGazIndustriya, through the project developer China National Chemical Engineering.

Under the contract, CB&I will provide detailed engineering, procurement, construction management and commissioning services of multiple process units.

The order will also include the provision of services for a 2.5M t per annum hydrocracker unit licensed by Chevron Lummus Global, a joint venture between CB&I and Chevron.

Philip Asherman, CB&I president and CEO, said: “CB&I is pleased to extend our relationship with NefteGazIndustriya and appreciate their confidence in our integrated capabilities.

"The Afipsky refinery modernisation is significant for NefteGazIndustriya and building this high-conversion unit will allow it to become one of the most modern and competitive refineries in Russia."
