CB&I secures $200M US LNG terminal contract

Dutch firm Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I) has secured a $200M contract from Puget Sound Energy to build a multi-purpose liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and fuelling terminal in Tacoma, Washington.

CB&I will be responsible for the provision of engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction services for the project.

The project will feature a 30,000cb m full containment storage tank, a liquefier and vaporizer. The terminal will offer peak shaving, marine bunkering and truck loading capabilities.

CB&I executive vice president of fabrication services Luke Scorsone said: "CB&I and PSE have a historical relationship, and we are pleased to be working with them on this project.

"We are proud to have been selected to design and build this multi-purpose LNG facility. CB&I has a leading position across all aspects of the LNG industry, and we look forward to helping PSE deliver dependable, affordable natural gas service to transportation companies as well as residential and commercial customers."
