South London’s Lambeth College has selected Carillion Developments to build a new skill centre in the college’s Vauxhall site.

The £167m project will be developed on a 2.28-acre site on Belmore Street, off Wandsworth Road, within the Vauxhall Nine Elms Opportunity Area.

Work will include construction of 200 residential flats that will cover a total area of about 15,500 sq m. The development will include both private as well as affordable residential units for rent and sale.

Plans also involve building a hotel, alongside the residential units, to fund the construction of a specialist Lambeth College Skills Center for vocational learning.

The project is expected to be completed within 36 months, with completion anticipated in mid-2018.
