Brasfield & Gorrie has completed construction of $125m, luxury Women’s Hospital as part of expansion project of Medical City Dallas.

Brasfield served as the general contractor on the expansion project, which was designed by architect Perkins+Will.

With the completion of the expansion, Medical City Dallas opened the Women’s Hospital, which was established to cater to a wide variety of complex healthcare needs, from maternity to gynaecology and cancer care.

Under the expansion, five floors have been added to the Care Tower D and feature 222 private rooms.

The new Medical City Women’s Hospital Dallas includes 24 modern labour and delivery rooms; four new C-section operating rooms; 84 Level IV (highest level) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) rooms, all private; 12 spacious women’s VIP suites; and 16 women’s medical/surgical rooms.

The hospital offers clinical excellence in a spa-like environment, where a team of physicians and specially trained staff members provide latest treatment for women at all stages of life, including high-risk pregnancies and deliveries.

Medical City Dallas is the only hospital in north Texas to include a full-service children’s hospital, including a Level IV-designated NICU, and an adult hospital on the same campus.

Medical City Children’s Hospital and Medical City Women’s Hospital Dallas CEO Bill Lee said: “This unique facility enables mothers and babies to receive world-class care under one roof, without being separated if a higher level of care is needed after delivery.

“In addition, this specialised Women’s Hospital allows us to provide the full continuum of high-level women’s healthcare, including access to specialists and experts conveniently located on our campus with modern amenities.”

Labour and delivery VIP suites are available with three different size options and offer a wide variety of amenities, including large bedroom for mothers; separate room for family’s overnight stays; Tempur-Pedic Murphy beds; easy access to nursery on same floor; access for families to a concierge room stocked with refreshments; and skyline views of downtown Dallas.

The Women’s Hospital is part of Medical City Healthcare’s major capital investment initiative of more than $1.7bn spent or committed over five years.
