British construction services and security company Bowmer & Kirkland has been appointed by The English Cities Fund, a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and Homes England, as contractor for the 157,000ft² third office development at New Bailey in Salford, Greater Manchester.
Previously, Bowmer & Kirkland has delivered a Premier Inn, One New Bailey and is currently working on Two New Bailey Square at New Bailey.
Work on the new Grade A office building as part of the wider New Bailey scheme is expected to commence in early 2019.
Recently, a new multi-storey car park has been completed and there are four other projects under construction at New Bailey, including Riverside House and the third phase of the residential development at The Slate Yard.
The English Cities Fund regional director Phil Mayall said: “It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team at Bowmer & Kirkland that it has been selected again for the development of a third office building at New Bailey.
“The team has worked well with the fund to deliver the previous buildings, on time and on budget, which is extremely important on such a large and complex mixed-use regeneration development.”
Three New Bailey building, which has secured BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, will consist of the ground floor and six storeys and will be situated on New Bailey Street, adjacent to Salford Central station, fronting a new area of public realm.
Bowmer & Kirkland regional director Neil Brook said: “Bowmer and Kirkland are delighted to have secured the next phase on New Bailey and build on our successful relationship with the English Cities Fund.”
The project is expected to start in early 2019 and be completed in early 2021.
JLL and Cushman and Wakefield have been appointed as joint letting agents for the New Bailey scheme.
